French, German English and Romanian are fluent languages. Her father, who is a teacher of theatre in one of the top Romanian theater schools, also a theatre teacher. She won the Best Female Actor Award for the Year in 2000 at the Mangalia Young Actor Gala. It was the European Film Promotion Board named her a European Shooting Star in 2008. Youth Without Youth, a Francis Ford Coppola movie, was also a part of her work. In 2008, she appeared as Yasim in Angwar, the BBC five-episode Miniseries The Last Enemy. Marinca played the role of Yasim Anwar as part of Oliver Hirschbiegel's Five Minutes of Heaven, and also the Romanian film Boogie. Later, she had a major performance in the 2014 film Fury in which she played the role of a German woman known as Irma the aunt of Emma.
